For us children and child protection

Children have the right to grow up safe and healthy. This means: you should feel comfortable and not be afraid.

For example:

  • If you are sick, your parents will help you go to the doctor and get medicine.
  • If you are playing outside, your parents will make sure that nothing happens to you.
  • Your parents show you how to be nice to others and what is right and wrong.
  • If you are sad or need help, your parents are there for you.

Sometimes parents learn how to raise their children without violence. This means that they don't use swear words or hit, but speak kindly and explain what is good.

If you are not feeling well or are worried, you can always talk to adults. This could be your parents or relatives. Nursery school teachers or elementary school teachers will also be happy to help you. They will listen to you and support you so that you feel better.

Adults from the state also make sure that your parents take good care of you. This ensures that you are doing well.
