We for you: The voice of the youth

Salzgitter has had a youth parliament since 2014, which is involved in many ways on behalf of children and young people in the city. "We are committed to ensuring that our opinions and views are taken into account when projects are implemented and developed."

New youth parliament is in place - constituent meeting on May 28, 2026

The youth parliament meets on April 30

On Thursday, April 30, the youth parliament will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the council chamber of the town hall in Lebenstedt (Joachim-Campe-Straße 6-8). Guests are welcome!

18 members of parliament meet regularly in the council chamber in the town hall. "These meetings are open to the public, so you can attend them at any time if you are interested in a particular topic. We then deal with the city's current issues or work on our own projects."

In the last fifth session, these included the "Climate Run", the "Youth Politics Days" and leisure activities for children and young people in the city.

In addition, those involved in previous youth parliaments have taken part in the working group for the development of Salzgittersee, organized surveys on specific topics such as canteen meals at schools or put on a summer party for a good cause.

The young people in the youth parliament pass resolutions, express wishes and take initiatives, which are then discussed in the city's political bodies such as the council.

"We can convey our interests to the city's decision-making bodies and actively shape them. We are asked for our opinion. Our voice is important and is heard."

Since 2014, the youth parliament has represented the interests of young people and enriched the activities of the city of Salzgitter for children and young people.

That's why the committed members are happy to hear from other interested parties who simply drop by, call, email or get in touch via digital channels. Simply join in and get involved!
