My student ticket is gone, what should I do?
If your student ticket is lost, report the loss immediately to the school office to obtain a temporary certificate (usually valid for 14 days) and apply for a replacement ticket there. The reissue is subject to a charge.
How much pocket money am I entitled to?
What can I buy with my pocket money?
Even if you are not yet of legal age, you are allowed to buy many things yourself - for example with your pocket money. This is even regulated by law, in the so-called "pocket money paragraph" (§ 110 BGB).
If you buy something with your own money, i.e. money that you have received as a gift or regularly receive as pocket money, then the purchase is valid even without your parents' consent. The important thing is that the money was really given to you for free disposal and that the amount is appropriate for your age.
Example: You buy a game for 25 euros from the pocket money you have saved up.
Or you get 30 euros for your birthday and use it to buy yourself new headphones. Even if your parents have not said "yes" beforehand, the purchase is permitted and the contract is valid if you have received the money yourself and it is appropriate for your age.
But be careful: just because something is legally okay doesn't automatically mean that it will go down well with your family.
If you make major purchases without talking to your parents, this can lead to anger or trust issues. It is often wiser to ask beforehand, especially if you know that certain purchases could cause discussion/anger/stress with your parents.
Handling money responsibly doesn't just mean that you are allowed to do what you want, but also that you think things through and respect those around you.
It's different with larger or longer-term expenses. For example, if you want to take out a subscription (e.g. for a streaming service or a cell phone contract), you usually need your parents' consent. Your pocket money is also not enough for expensive purchases in installments, in which case the purchase can be canceled.
This means you can use your pocket money to buy lots of things yourself. This helps you to learn responsibility in dealing with money. If you are unsure whether something is allowed, you can always ask your parents or another trusted person.
Who do I turn to if something really annoys me in my neighborhood?
If something is bothering you, but also if you have ideas and wishes for your district, you can contact our youth parliament. The active young people there can certainly help you.
The city administration also has a service point for ideas and complaints, where you can even submit your idea or complaint online and via an app. Your request will be forwarded and processed from there. As a rule, you will then receive feedback on how to proceed.
